LOW EMISSIVITY GLASS
The majority of aluminum windows are available with the energy efficient thermal glass option which can almost double the insulation value of normal thermal glass. This option consists of three components:

A spacer made of non-conductive resin, along the perimeter of the sealed glass unit
Argon, a gas denser than air, introduced between the two panes of glass
LOW-E, the deposit of silver nitrate molecules on one of the interior glass surfaces of the sealed unit, to reduce the U-factor by suppressing irradiative heat flow

The aluminum extrusions, by their malleability, are naturally resistant to the expansions and contractions that can occur during temperature variations. There are also environmental benefits stemming from the use of aluminum because of its high energy efficiency (in combination with our thermal barriers) and because its development does not harm the environment.
